Founder & Lead Reviewer at Seedance Review

Hi, I'm Alex — an AI video tool enthusiast, independent reviewer, and the founder of Seedance Review. I've been hands-on with AI video generators since early 2025, testing everything from Seedance and Sora to Kling, Runway, Veo, Pika, and Hailuo. I've generated thousands of videos across these platforms, burned through more credits than I'd like to admit, and documented every benchmark along the way.

I'm not an employee of any AI company. I don't receive payment for reviews. I'm an independent creator who uses these tools professionally and believes the community deserves honest, data-driven evaluations — not affiliate-driven listicles or press-release summaries.

My mission: help creators find the best AI video tools for their specific needs, backed by real testing data and transparent methodology.

Why I Built This Site

In early 2025, I started using AI video generators for client projects — product ads, social media content, and short films. The technology was impressive but the information landscape was a mess. Every "review" was either a thinly-veiled affiliate pitch or a surface-level feature list copied from press releases.

When Seedance 2.0 launched and claimed the #1 spot on Video Arena with an Elo of 1269+, I wanted to verify those claims independently. I spent two weeks running systematic benchmarks, comparing it head-to-head with Sora, Kling, and Runway on identical prompts. The results were genuinely surprising — and I realized the community needed a resource that did this kind of testing regularly.

Seedance Review was born from that frustration. Every article on this site comes from real hands-on testing — not speculation, not aggregation, not sponsored content. When I say a feature works or doesn't work, it's because I've tested it across dozens of generations with documented results.

Our Testing Methodology

Every review on this site follows a rigorous, consistent process. Before we publish any evaluation, we:

1

Use It for At Least 7 Days

No day-one impressions. We test every tool for a minimum of one week under real working conditions before forming an opinion. First-day bugs and honeymoon biases both get filtered out.

2

Generate 50+ Videos

Every review is backed by at least 50 video generations across diverse scenarios. We test product showcases, nature scenes, character animations, abstract art, and action sequences to understand the full capability range.

3

Compare Across 5+ Real-World Scenarios

Identical prompts across competing tools. Same subjects, same camera instructions, same lighting descriptions. No cherry-picking — if a tool excels in one area but fails in another, we report both.

4

Score with Transparent Criteria

Every tool gets scored on visual quality, motion coherence, prompt adherence, audio quality, generation speed, and value for money. Scores include specific version numbers and test dates so you can verify our results.

Editorial Standards

We do not accept payment for reviews. We do not let affiliate relationships influence scores. When we recommend something, it's because testing data supports the recommendation — not because a vendor asked nicely.

If a product has serious flaws, we say so plainly. These aren't footnotes — they're central to whether you should use it. Every article includes specific version numbers, test dates, and the exact criteria used. If you can't reproduce our results, that's on us to explain why.

Our reviews are regularly updated when tools release new versions. Check the "Last Updated" date on any article to see when we last verified the information.
